2017-07-08 Passing on the Baton to the 15th LSPAA President

Dear LSPAA Members & Friends,

I am extremely proud of the next batch of LSPAA Officers for 2017 - 2019 elected during the La Salle-O-Salo, the LSPAA annual picnic, at Burke Lake Park on July 8, 2017.
Finally, I "graduated" from 4 years of presidency! It would not have been possible without the support of my fellow officers, board of advisors, committee chairs and the ever-supportive core of LSPAA members and their families.  I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to our outgoing Secretary Jeff Garcia, who committed to continue the maintenance of the LSPAA website http://www.lspaa.org/ even if his job will take him to another state; to our outgoing Treasurer Aurora "Girlie" Arellano, who has diligently served for 6 years under 3 consecutive terms and has been a very reliable partner in the execution of various events; to our outgoing P.R.O., Dan La O, who silently works behind the scenes but loves shooting out super impromptu lunch outs; to Robin Gopiao, our VP in my first term who was instrumental in finalizing the ratification of the LSPAA bylaws, reinstating the organization's 501 ( c ) 7 status and generously providing financial support whenever it is needed the most; to Tito Alisuag, our P.R.O. in my first term for consistently covering all LSPAA events with pictures; to Norie Benedicto as the other woman behind the woman president in successfully leading sportsfests, recruiting and forming teams and influencing and strategizing leadership transitions; to Ron Diokno, who has effectively branded LSPAA events Bente Berde, Pasko Berde, BowlALU, La Salle-o-Salo, Green Tee, Instagreen and made our broadcasts more colorful and exciting with his posters and teasers; and of course, last but not the least, to our outgoing Vice President, Gregg Angeles, for gallantly accepting the nomination for President! Gregg exudes gentle firmness and no doubt will be a great 15th President in LSPAA's 23 years of existence! We have featured Gregg in Archersnook before, refer to July-August 2014 Archersnook issue. Gregg and wife Yasmin both currently work at the World Bank.

The past 4 years have been fully documented in LSPAA's newsletters at http://archersnook.blogspot.com/. We are proud of the 4 years that have been chronicled online in spite of limited technical savvy in online blogging and newsletter-writing. I will continue on temporarily as secretary to provide the much needed transition. I am looking forward to working with this exciting new batch of officers under Gregg Angeles!

It has been a great ride and I immensely value the people I have met, the friendships developed and the self-fulfillment in carrying out the responsibilities of an LSPAA president in spite of consistently very heavy workload, constant travels and new family demands as a new grandma. With Lasallian friends always ready to help, nothing is impossible!

And of course, with my ever-supportive hubby Elmer Rosario at my side, nothing is indeed impossible!

We live the ANIMO!
